The Texas Border Sheriff’s Coalition have set up a virtual community watch to try and stop border crime.
An innovative real-time surveillance program designed to empower the public to proactively participate in fighting border crime… a network of cameras and sensors along the Texas-Mexico border that feeds live streaming video… Users will log in to the BlueServo website and directly monitor suspicious criminal activity along the border via this virtual fence.

I stumbled across this wonderful piece of web software/art recently, created by Salathe Marcel, which converts any given web page URL into a pretty pattern by reading each HTML element on the page and displaying it as a coloured dot.

Most of you will remember the ‘hot or not’ Internet craze that went around a few years back where you were given a photo of a girl or boy and asked to rate them out of ten, before being told whether the rest of the population agreed with you. (If you don’t remember, check it out here) It was a little cruel sometimes, but good fun.
The collaborative guys and girls at Jelly New York have created the web equivalent, called Command Shift 3. Presented with two pictures of different websites, you have to vote for which of the two you prefer. If you’re feeling especially brave, you can also submit your own.
